Give your apiary a strong start with our Nuc (Live) with 5 Frames, a thriving, established colony of Italian bees. Whether you're setting up a brand-new hive or boosting a weaker one, this nuc arrives with brood, stores and a laying queen already in place, so the colony can get straight to work.

Local Pickup Only
This product is pickup only and cannot be shipped. Collection is on Saturdays, unless special arrangements are made. We'll call you a couple of days before your nuc is ready to organise a pickup time. New orders will be available for pickup from mid-November to the second week of December.
A $10 deposit applies to the nuc box itself and is refunded when the box is returned.
NSW Requirements
Beekeepers in NSW must supply a valid hive registration number at the time of purchase. We cannot process orders without it.
Don't Have a Hive Yet? Add the OZ ARMOUR Brood Box
Add an OZ ARMOUR single full-depth brood box to your order and your bees have a proper home from day one. It's sized to match this nuc at 5 frames, comes fully assembled and painted white, and is built from 22mm New Zealand pine, 3mm thicker than the 19mm timber used in most imported hives. That extra thickness means better insulation and less warping through Australia's temperature swings. The outside is UV and water-resistant, while the inside is left as natural, unpainted pine, which bees take to more readily.
The box includes a lid and an upgraded wax-dipped mesh bottom board with beetle trap. Bees naturally drive small hive beetles down to the floor, where they drop through the mesh into a removable tray of diatomaceous earth. The same mesh lets fallen varroa mites pass through, making mite counts simple and non-disruptive. Because the board is wax-dipped, it never needs painting or recoating.
