The OZ Armour Apithor Hive Beetle Trap is a disposable, single-use trap designed to help manage small hive beetles inside the hive. Its rigid plastic housing provides a dedicated space for beetle control while specially sized openings allow small hive beetles to enter without allowing bees to access the treatment area.

The trap contains insecticide-impregnated cardboard within the protected harbour area, keeping the treatment material separated from bees and honey. It is designed to sit securely on the hive bottom board and provide ongoing beetle management for up to 3 months.

Targeted Protection Against Small Hive Beetles

Small hive beetles can become a problem when they establish inside colonies, particularly where colonies are under pressure. The Apithor trap provides a dedicated in-hive system for capturing and killing these pests while keeping the treatment material contained within the trap.

Its entry points are sized specifically to allow beetles through while excluding bees, helping keep the insecticide-treated area separated from the colony.

Rigid Housing for Secure Hive Placement

The trap uses a durable rigid plastic construction designed to maintain its shape while positioned on the hive bottom board. Its tamper-resistant design also helps prevent accidental interference with the treatment area.

The trap can be secured using suitable silicone adhesives where required, helping keep it correctly positioned during use.

Long-Lasting Single-Use Design

The Apithor Hive Beetle Trap is designed to remain in the hive for up to 3 months. Once the treatment period is complete, the used trap should be wrapped in paper, placed inside a plastic bag and disposed of in a garbage bin according to the product instructions.

As a single-use product, the trap is intended to be replaced rather than reused after its treatment period.
