Long-Lasting Protection Against Wax Moth
Wax moth can quietly wreck stored frames and weak colonies, tunnelling through comb and leaving behind webbing and frass before most beekeepers even notice they're there. This wax moth repellent takes a simple, non-chemical approach, it baits the moths out, kills their appetite, and lets nature take care of the rest.
Only one piece is needed per beehive, and a single piece lasts around a year, making it a low-effort, long-lasting way to keep wax moth pressure down without touching your honey or bees.
How the Wax Moth Bait Works
This isn't a medicine and doesn't affect bees or honey in any way. It works purely as a bait, luring wax moths out and making them lose their appetite, so they slowly starve rather than continuing to feed on comb. Once they've died off, the colony's own worker bees clean up the moth bodies as part of normal hive hygiene, no intervention needed from you.
Where to Place the Repellent
- Hung between the frames, in the brood box or super where wax moth activity is most likely
- Placed at the bottom of the hive, for ongoing protection at the entrance level
Either placement works, so use whichever suits your hive setup and how you like to inspect.
